Work is a gift from God
(Ecclesiastes 5:19) Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work–this is a gift of God.
When we think of work as a toll, it is natural that we do not look forward to it. If that is the case, our attitude at work will not be good. The Bible tells us that work is a gift from God. If we think about it that way, our attitude towards work can improve.
(Psalms 103:2) Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits–
We are to praise God for His benefits and blessings. Try to start each day praising God for giving you your job. If you do that, you will begin to feel more positive about it.
We are actually serving the Lord and not men
(Eph 6:7-8 NIV) Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, {8} because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
Our motivation for work may be low if we are serving a boss we do not like. Yet the Bible tells us that we are to serve our bosses as if we are serving Him. And God will reward you for serving your boss as He would serving Him. That should give us motivation to work for whatever kind of boss.
