Revenge in Islam

Although the Quran encourages you to forgive your enemies, it is all right to execute revenge.

016.126
PICKTHAL: If ye punish, then punish with the like of that wherewith ye were afflicted. But if ye endure patiently, verily it is better for the patient.

002.194
PICKTHAL: The forbidden month for the forbidden month, and forbidden things in retaliation. And one who attacketh you, attack him in like manner as he attacked you. Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is with those who ward off (evil).

The Bible teaches very different with regards to revenge. We are to leave justice to the courts of law and to God. Personal revenge is strictly not allowed.

(Lev 19:18 NIV)  “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

(Luke 6:27-29 NIV)  “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, {28} bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. {29} If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic.
