Success in work and life
Moving out from our current situation It may be necessary to move out from our current situation in order to enjoy God’s blessings. (Gen 12:1-2 NIV)  The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. {2} "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. " God blesses us so that we can bless others (Gen 12:1-3 NIV)  The LORD had said to Abram, "... {2} "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. {3} I will bless those who bless you,…

God intended for us to lead successful lives The Bible is relevant to our daily living. Whether we are Christians or not we can draw truths from the Bible to help us live our lives successfully. (Gen 39:2-3 NIV)  The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. {3} When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, (1 Sam 18:13-14 NIV)  So he sent David away from him and gave him command over a thousand men, and David led the troops in their campaigns. {14} In everything he did he had great success, because the LORD was with him. How to Help People Change

People Skills
(Mat 7:12 NIV)  So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. This Golden Rule is also useful in helping us to change others. It teaches us to lead by example. If we want to change someone to be kind, we be kind to them first. Jesus also led by example. To teach His disciples servanthood, He himself became a servant and washed their feet. He wanted to change them by first setting an example Himself. (John 13:14-15 NIV)  Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. {15} I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Improving our attitude at work

Improving our attitude at work

Success in work and life
Work is a gift from God (Ecclesiastes 5:19)  Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work--this is a gift of God. When we think of work as a toll, it is natural that we do not look forward to it. If that is the case, our attitude at work will not be good. The Bible tells us that work is a gift from God. If we think about it that way, our attitude towards work can improve. (Psalms 103:2)  Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- We are to praise God for His benefits and blessings. Try to start each day praising God for giving you your job.…

How to get along with difficult people

People Skills
Understand people are created differently We find it difficult to get along with people who are different from us. But how boring the world would be if everyone were just like us. The Bible gave a good example of two people who were so different from each other. They were Jacob and Esau. (Gen 25:27 NIV)  The boys grew up, and Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the open country, while Jacob was a quiet man, staying among the tents. We need to understand that in a conflict, it is not that we are right and they are wrong but rather that we are different. We should accept a person’s unique characteristics and not try to change him to resemble us. View a person as a package of…

How to motivate others

People Skills
Promise them something that is important to them (Luke 6:38 NIV)  Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." We motivate someone to do something by promising him a reward. That reward has to be important to him. Or else it is not a reward in his eyes. A Christian leader can motivate his followers to serve God and do good so as to enjoy God’s blessings. Withhold something that is important to them Haggai 1:46 (NIV) "Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin?" 5 Now this is what…

Financial Success

Financial Success

Success in work and life
Financial success is a blessing from God Wealth is acknowledged to be a blessing from God. This can be seen from the witness of the Old Testament. God chose Abram and promised to bless him and make his name great (Gen. 12:1-3). In the process, Abram became rich (Gen. 13:2). Further, we are told that God blessed Isaac; and he became very rich (Gen. 26:12-14). Solomon's wealth was seen as a sign of God's favor (1 Kings 3:13; 10:23). Job, too, was blessed by God, and his wealth increased greatly (Job. 42:12). Poverty is not necessarily a sign of God’s disfavor Example of the poor widow Dangers of wealth Keep us from maturing in the faith Jesus' references to money in the New Testament consist mainly of stories or parables…

Integrity (1 Chr 29:17 NIV)  I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. Integrity is a steadfast adherence to a moral or ethical code. Daniel was one man who had integrity and never let his work practices affect his walk with God. When his boss, the king, issued a decree that violates God’s laws, Daniel refused to compromise even when not only his career was at stake but also his life. Daniel’s greatness comes in his quiet refusal to give up his convictions. He resisted changing the good habits he had formed. Daniel tactfully chose a simpler menu and proved it was a healthy choice. Daniel 1:8  But Daniel made up his mind not…
